Blessings
Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
When we look around in our lives, we can see many blessings; but we may also see sorrow or pain. Whatever the situation, we can still rejoice in the Lord! We recently had the privilege of singing at a church in Loxley, AL.
A big celebration day was planned, but a tragedy hit in one of the church members lives; and a funeral took place the Saturday we arrived. We knew the church would have mixed emotions in the services on Sunday. We fervently prayed for God to speak through us and use us for His glory. God gave us the verse, Romans 12:15 – “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” God had sent us to rejoice and also to weep with this church. As the services began, we could see the Holy Spirit at work. There were tears of sorrow and tears of joy. One sweet couple joined the church, but no other public decisions were made in the services. While folks were headed to go eat the wonderful lunch provided, God gave us the opportunity to lead three people to Lord. It was a husband and wife, and the wife’s mother. God worked a miracle! All Heaven rejoices when just one sinner repents! Heaven was definitely having a celebration as these three souls were set free! When we entered the dining hall, the pastor announced in a shout, “Three more people just got saved!” The whole place rejoiced! At the funeral on Saturday, five souls were saved, and another got saved in their Wednesday night service. God was definitely at work! We are so thankful for His goodness, mercy and grace! Let us all rejoice in His blessings this day, and let us ask Him to help our eyes be open to the opportunities He has for us to be used for His glory.
On a personal note, we have very exciting news! Ashley and Daniel are expecting their first child! Please pray for Ashley and the baby as this new addition to our family is prepared by God to enter into this world. We cannot wait to hold that little bundle of joy, but it is going to be a little while - just another opportunity to learn patience! Ashley is due February 8th, 2016.
We are so thankful for what God is doing in our family and in our ministry! Thank you all for your prayers and support. Jesus is the reason for every season, and He is the reason we sing! He is God Alone, and we are humbled and honored to serve Him. We pray God’s blessings for you. Please continue to keep us and our ministry in your prayers.
